Introducing the PCA Post

The Official Student Newspaper of PCA Upper School

The 2025–2026 school year marks the launch of the PCA Post, a new student newspaper created and led by two members of the Class of 2026, Linnie Ngamcharoenthana and Maeve Bowden. What began as an idea shared during Linnie’s Prefect interview has grown into a thoughtful, student-run publication that gives our Upper School a meaningful platform for student voice.

Before the school year even began, Linnie and Maeve spent part of their summer shaping their vision for the paper. They met, made a plan, and arrived on campus in the first week of school ready to present a proposal and begin building something that would last. Their work as Academic Prefects has supported this effort as well. As part of the Prefect Program, both students take Leadership in Action, a senior course taught by Mrs. Ellen Sporko with regular guest teaching from Upper School Principal, Mr. Jordan Hecklemann, and Head of School, Mr. Mike Runey. The space for mentorship, problem solving, and intentional leadership development has helped them build the habits and structure needed to guide a team and shape a publication from the ground up.

The PCA Post is entirely student initiated, written, edited, and designed. Nineteen Upper School students from across the Upper School serve as reporters, writers, photographers, and layout designers. The club runs on a Tuesday and Thursday team model, with each group publishing once per month. This allows the Post to share new issues every two weeks while giving students time to plan, revise, and grow their skills. Mrs. Sporko has shared that “The PCA Post is chronicling the life of our school and student body in a way we’ve never done before,” and the work of these students reflects that commitment.

Linnie and Maeve edit each issue and lead their teams with care. They are thoughtful about the stories they choose to tell, highlighting student accomplishments, meaningful moments in our community, and a wide range of perspectives. They continue to refine their process with each edition, asking good questions, supporting their writers, and setting a tone of curiosity and joy.
