PCA’s 2018 Alumni Samy Tshileu came back to campus to speak at an US chapel recently. His topic was “The Fear of the Lord” concentrating on Proverbs 1:7. His message was that knowledge is power and God gives you what you need. He will be graduating early from Plymouth State where he is majoring in Political Science and minoring in Business Management.
He has written a book called “The Boy in Red Shorts”, a book about his life journey thus far. Samy came from a small village in the DR Congo (DRC), learning his basic English on his own prior to coming to the US for education. What was to be a year of schooling ended up being four years and graduating at PCA.
Samy is also working on a project through Clean Water for Congo, a project to help bring clean supplies of water to rural villages in the Congo.

After graduating from Emerson College in 2015 with a B.S. in Broadcast Journalism, I returned to the Seacoast where I began working for Liberty Mutual in a sales support position. I now work for Lincoln Financial Group in Dover as a Communications and Project Management Specialist on a team that builds and supports our largest external partnerships.
I just bought my first home in the historic ‘Hill’ district in Somersworth, NH where I now live and am looking forward to building community. And finally, I recently began a part-time leadership development program at my local church (New Frontiers Church) in which I will be joining the church leadership team on staff, receive church planting theological training, and will be engaged in ministry serving alongside and mentored by senior church leaders.

PCA 2016 Alumnus Wesley Tobin, a member of the Southern New Hampshire University Baseball Team, was selected to the NCBWA Preseason All-East Region Team. According to this article, “Tobin earned one of the three starting pitcher spots on the Second Team, as he went 8-3 with a 2.67 ERA in his first season as a starter for the Penmen last season. Over 84-and-a-third innings, the big right-hander gave up just 69 hits, while striking out 99 and walking only 21. Tobin, who claimed NE10 All-Conference Second Team honors, led the conference in wins, ranked third in strikeouts and strikeouts per game (10.57), fourth in innings pitched, sixth in hits and 15th in ERA.”

Fiston was named Yankee Small College Conference (YSCC) Men’s Soccer Player of the Year while playing for the men’s soccer team at NHTI in Concord. Read more on Seacoast Online.

I graduated from Great Bay Community College with my associates in Biology. Next May in 2020 I will be graduating from University of Southern Maine with my bachelors in Health Sciences. June 23rd 2018 I got married to Ben Hichens, so I am now Samantha Hichens. We were able to go on an awesome honeymoon to Ireland.

I worked at New England Urology, Keady Family Practice, and currently I am doing Women’s Health. Every experience thus far has been amazing and fulfilling experiences. The plan is to graduate in May of 2021 with my Masters of Physician Assistant Studies, take my national board exam and get a job. Then, the following fall, I plan to continue my education and get my Masters of Public Health. My roots at PCA have grown into a woman I’m proud to be.

I graduated from Fitchburg State University in December with a degree in Psychological Sciences – I graduated a semester early and Summa Cum Laude! In the spring semester of 2018, I did an internship at the Brain Behavior Lab at the University of Geneva in Geneva, Switzerland. My internship involved assisting in research in a sleep study. While there, I traveled all over Europe (several trips to France, two trips to Italy, trips all over Switzerland, two trips to Germany, a trip to Ireland, two trips to Spain, as well as a few other trips). It was a great experience. I am now trying to find a research assistant job in Boston before pursuing my PhD in Neuropsychology. My hope is to be able to work with dementia patients in a clinical setting.

In 2019, I graduated from North Dakota State University in Fargo, North Dakota with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering (Magna cum Laude)! I am living in Fargo and working at Lockwood Manufacturing as a Design Engineer (we work with Potato planting and harvesting equipment). In July I will be marrying Brenna Ketterling, a fellow NDSU graduate (nursing) and North Dakota native. Looking back on my time at PCA and NDSU, I am thankful for the crazy journey God has brought me on and continues to lead me through.
