TURBOCAM International Funds Expansion of Portsmouth Christian Academy’s Robotics Program
Starting with the 2017-2018 academic year, Portsmouth Christian Academy’s Upper School students will have new opportunities to build on what they learn in the very popular Robotics class taught by Robotics and Programming Instructor (and IT Director) Michael Shevenell. A $4,000 gift from TURBOCAM International of Barrington, NH is the game-changer.
“This grant makes possible a significant expansion of our Robotics program, which will support both an academic class in Robotics theory and practice as well as a club level offering for those who have already taken the class,” explains Shevenell.
Through the addition of more equipment and supplies as well as a Robotics Club at the Upper School, PCA will be able to extend the program reach to a larger number of interested students; develop a competitive team; provide opportunities for students to develop leadership and other life skills; and expand the “robotics experience” to other math and science related classes.
Suzie Noronha, TURBOCAM’s Director of Charitable Giving, notes, “Turbocam is pleased to partner with PCA in supporting where both PCA’s mission and Turbocam’s mission intersect, in equipping young people to joyfully discover their gifts in preparation for lives of service and honoring God.”
