PCAP Thanksgiving Feast

Our preschool classrooms have been busy learning about the first Thanksgiving. Our students have learned about the journey that the Pilgrims made from England to New England. We’ve heard children talking about the Mayflower and have watched them act out their interpretations of what it was like to be a Pilgrim. They have learned about the Wampanoag people who were kind to the new settlers and taught them many things: how to survive the winter, how and what to hunt, and how to make tools. We’ve also talked about what it means to be thankful, and have made lists of who/what we are thankful for. As a culmination for this unit on Thanksgiving, our classrooms celebrated with Thanksgiving feasts. Miss Shannon and Miss Diane’s class celebrated with special snacks, stories, crafts and activities. The four’s celebrated as the Pilgrims (Miss Beth & Miss Deb’s class) and the Wampanoag’s (Miss Harlee & Miss Sue’s class) feasted together on a traditional Thanksgiving feast. We are so thankful for all of our preschoolers and their families.
