PCA Senior Softball Player Ashley Vining Signs Letter of Intent
Congratulations to PCA senior and softball player Ashley Vining! Ashley recently signed her letter of intent to play softball at Grove City College.
Ashley started playing softball when she was 8 years old and played tee ball before that. Her softball career at PCA began in junior high during her sixth and seventh grade years. She has played five years of Varsity Softball joining the Varsity team in her eighth grade year. Ashley received the D4 Player of the Year award in her freshman year and has been First Team All-State all three years of high school so far.
PCA has made it to the final four for the last four years and Ashley has played in all three including the state championship game in 2014. Last year she batted 413, lead the team in pitching wins with seven, and had a 1.83 ERA. She has been captain of the PCA softball team the last two year, was named PCA Athlete of the Year last year as a junior, and was presented the NHIAA Scholar Athlete Award this year as a senior.
At PCA, Ashley is also involved in Varsity Volleyball where she was a captain and all state volleyball player. She has also been a small group leader, and is involved in bible studies at PCA. She will be going to Grove City College with the major of Middle Level Education, English/Math.
