NH State Police 2018 K-9 Team of the Year Visits PCA
Congratulations to PCA Alumnus Haden Wilber (Class of 2007) and his K-9 partner, Gauge, for being named the NH State Police 2018 K-9 Team of the Year!
Trooper Wilber and his colleague, Trooper Murdock, visited PCA (with their K-9’s, Gauge and Ragnar) on Tuesday, February 19 (which was also Bring a Friend Day).
Troopers Wilber and Gauge earned this honor due to the result of continuous hard work and dedication to training and deployments.
There were two special presentations, one for grades K-3 and grades 4-8. The students and staff at PCA learned about how the dogs are trained, what a day in the life of a police K-9 looks like and other interesting facts about police K-9’s. Students were given a demonstration on how the K-9’s are focused on a special toy that is used to train them. The dogs leapt into the air and tussled with the officers to get to the chew toy.
The students were able to ask questions directed to Officer Wilber. Students were curious about the dog’s agility abilities, the dog’s teeth, their ages, how they got their names and where they live.
Thank you, Trooper Wilber (and Gauge!) and Trooper Murdock (and Ragnar) for your service and for helping protect our state!
