Mondays with Mike: Straight from Their Teachers – What We Saw in Your Child This Year
PCA Families,
We’re now in the third week of summer—and this is the third in a four-part wrap-up series of Mondays with Mike. It’s getting summer hot! Summer schedules have us going in many directions. As you go, I’d encourage you to take a few minutes and listen to what your child’s teachers had to say as they finished the year.
Special Format: This episode shares multiple stories in short segments from across PCAP, Lower School, and Middle School. These were recorded just before teachers stepped into summer break.
We did this last year, and it was the most listened to MWM we have done in nearly two years. So, we are bringing it back!
What you’ll hear isn’t a polished promo—it’s real testimony: what the teachers saw in your children. How they grew. How God moved.
Whether you’re new to PCA or have been part of this for years, this is a window into the kind of formation we pray for—and labor toward—every day.
Praying for all our PCA families!

PCAP (Preschool)
In PCAP, the growth is visible—and powerful. Children prayed for each other, remembered to follow up, and celebrated when God answered. One child’s faith led her whole family back to church. Others began recognizing letters, reading simple words, and growing in confidence and independence. Teachers saw children not just learning, but learning who they are in God’s eyes. That’s the kind of foundation that shapes a lifetime.
Lights On: Growth, Joy, and Character in Lower School
In Kindergarten through Grade 5, we saw children come alive as readers, writers, musicians, and peacemakers. Teachers speak of the “light coming on” when a child first sounds out a word—or works through a friendship conflict and resolves it with kindness. Students picked up instruments, took risks, grew in skill, and grew in character. You’ll hear stories of joy, challenge, and breakthrough. This is formation, not just instruction.
Becoming: Middle School Growth That Prepares for What’s Next
These years matter. And at PCA, they’re marked by transformation. Teachers describe your child maturing—academically, emotionally, and spiritually. Some led student council projects. Others took ownership of their learning for the first time. They prayed, struggled, reflected, and grew. Compared to what many kids experience during middle school, this kind of growth stands out. We don’t take it for granted—and we give God the credit. This is what your child’s teachers saw. It’s why we do what we do. I hope you’ll take a moment to listen—and be encouraged by how far your child has come this year.
