Mondays with Mike: Ready to Launch: The Class of 2025 Reflects

Over the last two weeks, I sat with forty young men and women who are about to step across the graduation stage and out into God’s world. In our annual senior exit interviews, the Class of 2025 opened up with honesty, insight, and hope.

What they shared encouraged me deeply, not just for where they’re headed, but for who they’ve become. This episode is a testimony to God’s faithfulness, to the labor of parents and teachers, and to the kind of Christ-centered graduates we’re praying for. They are prepared, they feel ready, and they care: about faith, truth, and people.

So whether you’re a parent of a rising kindergartner or a soon-to-be senior, I invite you to listen in—not just to celebrate this class, but to glimpse the kind of graduates we are all hoping and laboring to see graduate from PCA.

Key Takeaways From This Episode

1. Deep Spiritual Roots
The Class of 2025 affirmed that consistent Christian rhythms—chapel, prayer, Bible classes, and spiritually invested teachers—shaped their faith deeply. Many came from secular backgrounds and expressed gratitude for PCA’s environment of grace and truth.

2. A Culture of Thinking Faithfully
Upper-level Bible electives like Systematic TheologyBiblical Ethics, and Apocalyptic Literature helped students wrestle meaningfully with real-life questions. Students want more, even earlier in their PCA journey.

3. Academically Equipped and Ready
Graduates described the coursework as challenging—but essential. From AP Chem to Honors Lit, Leadership in Action to Calculus, students felt well-prepared for the rigor of college—and confident in their independence, time management, and communication skills.

4. Formed Through Community and Challenge
From varsity sports to studio art, missions trips to morning devotions, students encountered formation through experience. They praised teachers who listened, challenged, and treated them as emerging adults.

5. Vision for Impact
This class is aiming to impact God’s world for good. From medicine to museums, aviation to athletics, they want to integrate their faith with their calling—and build Christian community wherever they land.

6. Honest Feedback for Growth
They asked us to keep listening, keep building community, and keep holding to the distinctives that set PCA apart. Their reflections offer helpful insight into how we can continue to grow stronger.

7. A Final Request
Most of all, they asked one thing from us as they go: pray for us. So let’s do just that!
