Welcome back, PCA community! In this week’s episode, we have the pleasure of hosting Tatum and Mavrick, who will share their inspiring athletic journeys with us. Both are captains of their respective PCA soccer teams and have shown remarkable growth over the past few years. We are excited for you to hear about their experiences and how they have witnessed God at work through athletics at PCA.

Tatum, PCA senior and Soccer Captain–she serves as a Unity Prefect in our leadership program. She is a scholar as well, and has taken multiple honors classes as well as AP. Her love for people and God is also seen in her commitment on the Missions trips to Puerto Rico.

Mavrick, PCA senior and soccer captain–he is both a strong athlete and a dedicated scholar. He has taken many honors courses and now multiple AP and Dual Enrollment classes. His faith is strong, and he participates consistently and significantly in his church.

Tatum, a senior and a leader on the women’s PCA soccer team, introduces herself and talks about her role as an offensive midfielder and sometimes striker. She reminisces about her favorite memory from her sophomore year when the team made it to the finals, highlighting the determination and joy that came with that experience. Tatum also discusses the challenges and excitement of leading a young team this season, emphasizing the importance of confidence and leadership among the newer players.

Mavrick, also a senior and a captain, shares his journey of playing soccer from middle school through high school. He recalls a significant moment from his freshman year that taught him the value of commitment and focus. Mavrick talks about the challenges of rebuilding a team after losing many senior players and the progress he has already seen in the young team this season. He offers encouragement to younger players, emphasizing the importance of patience and support from senior teammates.
