DOVER — After losing its first two games of the season three days apart last week, the Portsmouth Christian Academy boys basketball team needed to regroup for the Division IV Tournament — and quickly.


Kylani Lafleur made sure that happened. The PCA senior guard scored 16 of his game-high 21 points in the first half to lead the No. 2 Eagles past No. 15 Canaan-Pittsburg, 72-48, in the first round of the D-IV tourney on Tuesday.

“The mindset was we had to come and put our best foot forward,” Lafleur said. “We were too relaxed. We weren’t executing. We knew we had to tighten things up. That’s what we did tonight. That’s why we got the W.”
