Get To Know Mr. Howe
Born into a missionary family in Kodaikanal, India Stephen “Steve” Howe grew up a Preacher’s Kid and an Army Brat living and traveling all over the world. Steve was commissioned into the Army from the Siena College ROTC program. He served for 24 years in various operational, planning and combat roles. His final assignment was the Professor of Military Science at Carson-Newman University & Lincoln Memorial University, in Eastern Tennessee. In 2018, he transitioned from the Army and began a new career in secondary education. He had the honor of serving in Lawrence High School as the Senior Army Instructor for the LHS Junior ROTC program for five years. In 2024 Steve made the transition into Christian Education administration and joined the PCA community as their first Chief Operating Officer.
Steve has a Bachelor of Arts in History from the State University of New York at Albany; a Military Master’s in Art & Science in Theater Operations (Higher Level Planning) from the Army’s School of Advanced Military Studies. He has enrolled in Liberty University’s Master’s in Education Supervision & Administration program.
Steve and his wife Lee have two children in the New Hampshire Seacoast. They are members of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Topsfield Massachusetts.
Why Did You Feel Called To Come To PCA?
I believe it is vitally important that the Church provide academically vibrant and rigorous educational alternatives to a secular school system that is increasingly hostile to people of faith and parental authority. By providing an outstanding academic and unapologetically Christian educational option to Seacoast parents, PCA fills that role.
As a father and educator, I have seen school systems that have not always prioritized their partnership with parents, and I am excited to be part of a community that seeks to support parents in their role as the primary educator of their children.
