Student Feature: Caitlyn, Senior Class

What do you love about Portsmouth Christian Academy?
The teachers. They care so deeply and so genuinely about their students.

Describe one of your favorite teachers and tell why he/she is a favorite.
Mr. Foley is one of my favorite teachers because of his compassion and concern for the students on a deeper level than just academics.

In what ways have you grown (spiritually, academically and/or developmentally) as a result of your experience at PCA?
I have become a stronger leader. Before high school, and even now, I don’t consider myself a natural leader. However, I became a stronger leader and found my voice when I became a co-leader of small groups.

Portsmouth Christian Academy’s mission is “to honor God joyfully by inspiring students to maximize their God-given potential.” How do you experience this mission at PCA?
The teachers truly don’t have a one-size-fits-all approach to teaching. They recognize that each student has been given different gifts and use their own gifts to nurture and teach us.

How do you feel that PCA is preparing you for graduation, college and life?
I think PCA gives me a good sense of the balance of mercy and discipline. Teachers are understanding of students, often giving extra help to a student who needs it, but also know when and how to administer discipline.
