Debate & Diplomacy: PCA at Model United Nations Conference

Congratulations to eight Upper School students who attended a Model United Nations conference at Phillips Exeter Academy on Oct. 29! They, along with approximately 500 delegates  from 35 schools, tackled a wide range of topics, ranging from a fictional crisis (Sekovia Accords) to historical simulations on the Bretton Woods Conference and nuclear proliferation during the Cold War, to eradicating the practice of female circumcision and addressing the needs of refugees affected by environmental change. This is a rigorous program requiring research, debate, writing and diplomacy skills and we are proud of our delegates and their commitment and contribution. Well done! PCA’s Model UN Club advisers are Mrs. Capern, Librarian, and Upper School history teacher Miss Weisberg.
