Mondays with Mike: Staying Safe This Spring (A Community Update)

Good Monday afternoon PCA families,

As we move into the spring season—with more activity, our first home ballgames, more time outside, and more people on campus—we want to take a few minutes to check in on something that remains very important: the safety and care of our community.

In this week’s Mondays with Mike, I sit down with Steve Howe, our Chief Operating Officer, to share what we are seeing, what families can expect, and how we can continue to work together to keep PCA safe and welcoming for all.

Key Takeaways

  1. Spring brings increased activity—and increased responsibility.
With more students, families, and events on campus, awareness and attentiveness matter more than ever.
  2. Dogs are no longer permitted at PCA events without prior approval.
This policy shift is designed to ensure consistency and safety for all students and families.
  3. Speed remains the number one safety concern.
New signage and speed bumps will be in place—please help us keep campus active, but never rushed.
  4. Our campus trails are a gift—use them wisely.
Stay within marked boundaries, respect neighbors, and be aware of natural hazards as you explore.
  5. Eagle Watch strengthens our community through presence.
This volunteer team provides an extra layer of awareness and support—we welcome additional volunteers.
  6. Safety is a shared responsibility.
We are grateful for how our community partners together to care for students and one another.

We are grateful for the way our PCA community responds—with care, attentiveness, and a shared commitment to one another.

As we head into a full and active spring season, thank you for helping make PCA a place where students can grow, learn, and thrive safely together.

Next week, we get to hear from our 8th Graders (PCA Class of 2030) as they prepare for the Leadership trip to DC.

See you on campus soon, hopefully at a ballgame–Go Eagles!

See you on campus soon!

Grace and peace,
