Dear PCA Families,

Good morning and welcome to a brand-new school week! As we step into the 2025–26 school year, I am grateful for the opportunity to walk alongside you and your children in all that God is shaping at PCA. Today’s Mondays with Mike comes out a little earlier than usual so you can catch it on the way to—or from—our Open House.

This week, I am joined by two guests who bring unique perspectives to our community: Stephen Leavitt, Director of Enrollment, who shares what drew over 100 new children and their families to PCA this fall, and Nate Paul, Chief Storyteller, who explains how you can stay connected without feeling overwhelmed.

You will want to listen in because their insights touch on what matters most to families—faith, academics, community—and on the rhythms that will help you stay engaged throughout the year.

I am looking forward to seeing many of you at Open House today. Thank you for your faithful partnership as we begin this new year together. I look forward to all that God will do in and through your children in the months ahead.

With gratitude,

Mike Runey

Key Takeaways for Families

  • Why families choose PCA: Christian faith and discipleship first, strong academics that stretch and support, and a Christ-centered community where children are known and cared for.
  • A growing community: 108 new children joined PCA this fall—including 7 children of alumni. Parents consistently point to faith, academic excellence, and belonging as the reasons they are here.
  • Opportunities for every child: At PCA, children can participate in athletics and the arts, often in both, with space to grow in leadership and service.
  • Staying connected: Weekly rhythms help parents track what matters—
    • Mondays: Mondays with Mike and schoolwide updates
    • Tuesdays: Development, volunteer, and donor messages
    • Wednesdays: Fine arts and athletics
    • Thursdays (2 PM): All-school Peak (key dates, two to six weeks out)
    • Fridays: Principal and PCAP updates
  • Other tools: Teacher and classroom updates, the PCA Community Facebook page, Athletics page, Veracross Parent Portal, PCA Parents webpage, and monthly blog posts all help you stay informed.
  • Healthy communication rhythms: Faculty will respond thoughtfully within clear boundaries; no weekend emails except for urgent needs like weather alerts.
