PCA’s 5th Fall Food Drive

food drive_text

This year the generous community of Portsmouth Christian Academy came together once again to organize the Fall Food Drive. The Junior High Student Council, with the help of Jan Buchanan and Daphne Corso, was the driving force behind this month long event. Over the course of the food drive, students and staff donated over 2,500 food and personal items. All of the the items will be donated to the Seacoast Family Food Pantry in Portsmouth. Jan Carroll, a pantry volunteer, and Margie Parker, the pantry manager, visited PCA to help transport all of the food to the Seacoast Family Food Pantry.

Thank you to everyone who faithfully participated and gave so generously.

What the students had to say:

“I brought in a lot of food for my class, and I helped collect it each week. We collected more than 2,500 food/toiletries items and it showed me that if we put our minds to something we can make it possible.”

“I am on Student Council. I helped out by organizing the food and gathering it. This year, I came to understand that we are giving to people who don’t have anything. That touched my heart. I should be thankful for what I have. This year, I figured out why we give.”

“It meant a lot to be able to help those in need. Now people how have no food will have something to eat.”

“I really like the Food Drive because we all have so much, and many people need help. So it is very meaningful to give food, especially at Thanksgiving.”
