What do you love most about teaching?
“One of the most gratifying parts of teaching is being able to inspire students to love science and succeed beyond the high school level. A recent email from a 2018 alum read in part:
Good morning Mrs. Shevenell,
I hope you are doing well—it’s been so long! I wanted to reach out to thank you for setting the foundation for my knowledge of, and passion for, chemistry. I recently committed to Northwestern University’s chemistry PhD program for the upcoming fall. Even after four years of studying chemistry in college, I still find myself remembering specific ways you taught concepts, and using them as I tutor students as well. I am extremely grateful to have had you as my chemistry teacher.
God is faithful to take our efforts to serve Him and bring fruit from them.
What is your favorite scripture?
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your paths. Proverbs 3:5-6.
